PROJECT VALUE: |
$267,000 |
DETAILS: |
ANCO was referred by a tank testing company because the tank failed an integrity test. The first step was to isolate the tank and re-test, however once the oil lines were exposed a significant amount of free product was discovered surrounding the tank. While the tank itself had corrosion holes, the cause of this large discharge turned out to be the oil lines. The tank had been replaced in the 1970’s, but the oil lines were original. Connections between oil line sets were improperly made resulting in accelerated corrosion. The resulting leakage was extensive, and penetrated to depths of 25’. ANCO installed a new double walled tank system with anchoring, new oil lines and a leak detection system. Over 1,000 tons of soil was excavated. Klepp Environmental Hydrogeologists handled deep groundwater impact, and complete the groundwater phase. |
